How Many Different Anti-Aging Treatments Can I Have in One Visit?
It’s hard to put a number on how many anti-aging treatments you can get in a single visit, but in this blog, we walk you through which treatments work best together so you can get an idea of what a realistic treatment schedule might look like.

Everyone’s trying to kill as many birds as possible with as few stones as possible. If you want to apply that same concept to your anti-aging treatments, you’re in the right place.

Not only do we offer a wide selection of treatments, but we also create treatment schedules that streamline the process and get you the results you want faster. In fact, many of our patients get away with only needing one appointment.

Kathleen J. Smith, MD, and our Dermatology Specialists of Atlanta team are here to make your life easier, so we combine treatments in single appointments whenever possible.

Here’s a closer look at how we do it.

Getting to know our anti-aging treatments

We use the term “anti-aging treatments” to encompass virtually our entire lineup of services. We offer everything from household names like Botox® to the most advanced treatments, such as Morpheus8 and platelet-rich plasma (PRP).

Our patients see us for expert help in reducing or getting rid of:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Skin laxity
  • Age spots
  • Acne scars
  • Uneven skin tone and texture
  • Stubborn fat pockets
  • Facial asymmetry
  • Hair loss

The best part about seeing us for anti-aging treatments is that we can get you the results you want in less time and with much less risk of side effects.

Understanding how we combine anti-aging treatments

Combining anti-aging treatments is easy, especially when working with minimally invasive procedures.

We won’t know how many treatments we can combine until we know exactly which treatments you need, so we always begin with a thorough evaluation of your skin’s current health status, your primary concerns, and your treatment goals.

Then, we consider which areas of your body we’re treating, how each treatment behaves, and how each treatment affects your skin.

One of our most popular treatment combinations is neurotoxins and fillers. Although they are both injectables, they treat different issues.

Neuromodulator injections target facial muscles below the skin's surface, and we apply fillers to places like your lips and cheeks to restore volume. Neurotoxins and fillers also have similar recovery times and potential side effects, making caring for your skin easy.

If you’re getting completely unrelated treatments, such as CoolSculpting® for your love handles and intense pulsed light (IPL) for age spots on your face, you’re likely an excellent candidate for doubling up.

When combining treatments isn’t the best idea

Everyone’s treatment schedule is different. The anti-aging treatments that work well together for you might not be right for our next patient.

With that said, there are a few caveats to complementary treatments.

For instance, many of our patients ask about getting chemical peels or microneedling treatments at the same time they receive injectables.

It’s not a hard-and-fast no, but we do recommend having your chemical peel or microneedling treatment before your injectable to avoid manipulating the distribution of the fillers or neuromodulator.

There are some cases where we don’t recommend combining treatments. If you’re getting a deep chemical peel that significantly disrupts your skin and requires weeks of recovery, we’ll likely ask you to hold off on getting another treatment until your skin has fully healed.

Above everything, we prioritize your skin’s long-term health and keep it at the forefront of the conversation when discussing combining treatments. If there’s any risk of damaging your skin, we recommend spacing your treatments out a few days or weeks.

Restoring your skin’s health and vitality doesn’t have to be a drawn-out process. If you’d like to talk with an expert about a treatment schedule, call or click to schedule an appointment with the team at our Decatur, Georgia, office today.
