PRP Facial Rejuvenation – With & Without Fillers

Some of Dr. Smith’s patients ask, “What is an alternative or enhancement to dermal fillers?” The answer is PRP, Platelet Rich Plasma, injections with or without dermal fillers such as Juvederm™ and Restylane™.

Platelet Rich Plasma is rich in growth factors. When these growth factors are injected into the skin, with or without fillers, they stimulate collagen and elastin, resulting in rejuvenation of the skin. The treatment starts with drawing the blood into a special tube that will harvest the plasma.  The platelets release 7 growth factors which improve the appearance of the skin. PRP can be injected into problem area, such as under the eyes or facial areas like the cheeks to enhance facial shape and volume.  The growth factors improve wrinkles and make the skin appear more youthful and beautiful. PRP improves the appearance of under eye hollows. PRP can also be used to stimulate the scalp and encourage hair growth.

Natural Results with PRP

PRP treatments can appear more natural, not overdone. Improvements include:

  • Under eye hollows
  • Enhancement of the cheeks
  • Reduction in pore size
  • Firming of “crepey” skin
  • Minimize acne scars
  • Overall healthier appearance
  • When used with fillers, PRP serum prolongs and amplifies the filler correction

Duration of Treatment

We recommend a package of 3 or a package of 6 sessions depending on your facial concerns. Because this is Collagen Induction Therapy, it takes 3-4 weeks for the body to start to make new collagen. Treatments are typically every month.
